Molly, representing Downtown Ravenswood Partners, told council on March 24 that Triad Engineering was selected as the consultant for the EPA Brownfields community‑wide assessment RFQ and will conduct site visits beginning April 8.
She said site visits will include the COPES building and other nominated properties, and that property owners who suspect environmental contaminants can request assessment and possible inclusion in future remediation grants. Molly also reported progress on historic‑district design guidelines, with 30–40 responses to resident surveys and a direct‑mail push to older residents who may not use social media.
On public art, Molly said the mural mosaic fundraising effort exceeded its goal; Constellium was the final gold sponsor and installation is tentatively scheduled for August. She said tiles are painted and being collected for final assembly and that a sponsorship banner will be placed near the mural site.
Molly said Downtown Partners and school principals have agreed to a volunteer‑opportunity platform; phase 1 (nonprofit onboarding) will begin in summer with schools rolled out by the fall to connect students with community projects.
Council thanked Molly and encouraged community members to submit surveys and sign up for opportunities; Molly noted the design guidelines will be posted and linked from the city website, and the Brownfields consultant selection starts the technical assessment phase.
