The presenter said approximately 700 agencies are registered and described plans to expand virtual training and to create a curriculum to help firms that cannot attend in-person sessions.
Members discussed barriers such as bonding and insurance and asked about potential grant programs or pilot subsidy models. Supply SA said it is exploring grant-style opportunities and more direct technical assistance for compliance with bonding and insurance requirements.
Next steps: councilmembers requested follow-up information on participating agencies, a breakdown of industries and local hiring outcomes; staff said they will provide updates and additional slides on participating districts and agency differences.
