The Byram Hills Central School District Board of Education adopted the districtwide safety and emergency management plan and completed routine readoptions and recertifications of annual plans during its July organizational meeting.
Superintendent Jen presented the items and indicated there were no questions from board members before votes were taken. The board approved the districtwide safety and emergency management plan (an annual requirement), and recertified the multi-year professional development plan for 2025–26. Members noted the professional development plan is multi-year and the board's action was a recertification rather than a new adoption. The board also readopted the school counseling plan.
All three actions were approved by voice vote without discussion. The superintendent thanked staff for preparing the documents and the board moved on to other organizational business.
Next steps noted by the board include routine administrative implementation and any follow-up reporting by the relevant departments; no specific new safety measures, dollar amounts or external approvals were discussed during the meeting.
