During department reports at the July 13 meeting, staff provided several operational updates and assigned follow-up tasks.
No action was taken on the Iowa Land Records 28E Agreement. Zach Girard was directed to obtain quotes to replace the boiler; the transcript records an inspector’s estimate that repairs will cost "roughly 25,000 to 30,000." County staff will wait for Rasmussen to provide part-number information before finalizing quotes.
Emergency Management reported the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) should be paid out soon. The sheriff advised the board that patrols will be assigned to the races associated with the Lucas Oil Show the following day and that the county is still awaiting insurance on a damaged K9 patrol vehicle.
Maintenance reported sidewalk repairs will be a temporary "band aid" repair and that staff will obtain quotes for a longer-term fix. These items were recorded as department updates and did not result in immediate board action during the meeting.
