County secondary roads staff provided a detailed project update at the July 13 meeting, noting upcoming contractor lettings, ongoing culvert repairs and a temporary rail crossing closure in Prescott.
Staff said the Union 17 letting is scheduled "tomorrow at 7:30" and that a pavement-marking letting at the DOT is set for July 21. They reported meeting with Denco at 10:30 to review slip-lining and grouting plans for several culverts, and said crews completed a deck pour on Lincoln 3 last Thursday with no issues of note.
The update included logistical details for a short-term rail closure: "BNSF will be closing the rail crossing in Prescott starting the 15th and will remain closed until the 16th. A detour will be put in place," staff said. County personnel also reported continuing rock hauling and roadway tube replacements and that the county has hired Garden & Associates to perform the Douglas 2 survey.
The briefing was presented as an informational update; no board action on these items was recorded during the meeting. Staff indicated standard follow-up and contracting steps will continue.
