Facing a scheduling conflict between the town’s Black History Month program and a library event set for the same evening, the Greenburgh Town Board voted at its Feb. 17 work session to change the start time of the Feb. 25 meeting to 6:30 p.m.
A board member moved to suspend the board's recently adopted rules to amend the start time. "I would like to make a motion to suspend our rules for the start time of our Wednesday, February 25 meeting to amend that rule to as a start time to 06:30," the mover said; the motion was seconded and the board responded "Aye," approving the change.
Members discussed posting timely notice to avoid confusion and asked staff to update the website with a ticker and a flyer when final. The plan is to begin the meeting at 6:30 p.m., conduct the pledge and a brief presentation, and have the library event begin afterward so residents can attend both programs. Board members noted that if library hosts do not agree to the proposed sequencing, the early start would be reconsidered.
Before adjourning the public work session, the board voted to enter executive session to discuss personnel matters and seek legal advice; the public meeting ended with a note that the board would not return to the public session.
