Commission approves hires, separation and several procurement items including janitorial contract

Sheriff Baker presented a candidate to fill a deputy vacancy and the commission approved the hire of Shannon Moore with a planned start in the pay period beginning Aug. 19, 2025. Sheriff Baker also announced that Deputy Seth Havens will separate effective Sept. 7; the commission approved his separation and authorized, under the state code cited in the meeting (30-29-15), the purchase of his duty handgun at a reimbursement price of $429.
Separately, the commission approved a hiring recommendation for the Prosecutor's Office for Amanda Bryant, with a proposed start date of Aug. 24, and approved other routine financial and personnel items.
On procurement, after reviewing bids opened July 29 for after-hours janitorial services at the Greenbrier County Courthouse, the commission accepted the bid from Holland Home and Business Solutions and authorized contracting at the discussed price.
Commissioners also approved budget revisions and several transfers to cover invoices and department needs as presented earlier in the agenda.
