Laurel board approves routine agenda items, facility uses and personnel recommendations

At its regular meeting the Laurel School District Board of Education approved a slate of routine items and requests submitted as grouped motions.
The board approved school-choice items and school fundraisers as presented. It granted use of district facilities for community events including a weekly Good News Club at Laurel Elementary Intermediate School (Oct. 2024–April 16, 2025), a trunk-or-treat event on Oct. 26, 2024, and multiple Laurel Pop Warner youth football dates on Sept. 14 and Sept. 28, 2024. The board waived facility and custodial fees for several requests and noted certificates of liability insurance on file.
The board also approved professional trips submitted by staff and accepted personnel recommendations listed in Attachments A (professional), B (support) and C (coaches) in separate roll-call votes. Motions were moved and seconded as listed in the meeting record and carried by roll call; approvals are recorded for Mrs. Pugh, Mrs. Isler and Mr. Nichols across those items.
The board moved the regular October meeting from Oct. 16 to Oct. 9 to avoid a scheduling conflict and adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
