Nyeland Acres center update: building relocation, more parking, EV stalls; community clean-up Oct. 25

Jerri Copper of Ventura County Parks told the El Rio/Del Norte Municipal Advisory Council on Oct. 16 that the Nyeland Acres Community Center project includes moving the building on site, reconfiguring parking, creating a larger play area and adding electric-vehicle parking stalls.
Council members and staff also announced a community clean-up for Nyeland Acres on Oct. 25, 2025, and shared upcoming community events: Nyeland Promise will host a Dia de Los Muertos event on Nov. 2, and the Oxnard College Foundation planned an event on Oct. 19.
Copper's update was presented as a project-status briefing; no formal funding decisions, motions or votes were recorded on the center at this meeting. Community volunteers and residents were encouraged to participate in the Oct. 25 clean-up and related events.
