Resident Staci Schluechtermann of 243 Christines Way told the board she “does not agree with the 90% attendance request as the 6 pm meeting time makes it hard for potential trustee candidates to attend a meeting.” Borchardt and Trustee Blaine Werner discussed pay levels and timing: Borchardt said trustee pay was last increased in 2005, president pay in 2008, and staff pay in 2019, and noted the village lacks an administrator, which helps explain a larger compensation amount for the president role.
Trustee Chuck Mueller moved to approve Ordinance 2026-08 as submitted; Trustee Jamie Vorpahl seconded. The motion carried 7-0. The ordinance will apply to officials elected in 2027; the board did not record additional amendments or conditions at the meeting.
The action follows a Finance Committee review; the board did not specify an immediate change to meeting times or to the attendance guideline discussed by the resident. The board’s next meeting packet and minutes will record the ordinance text and any implementing steps.
