The Village of Random Lake Beautification Committee discussed a donation campaign for the Library Bay boardwalk and walkways at its March 17 meeting.
Chairman Rachel Fuller asked how the committee could attract donors and publicity. Member Erik Buchelt said he is preparing donation 'thermometers' and proposed placing them at the bank, the school, Jacoby Memorial Park, the library and Bob McDermott Lakeview Park. Committee members suggested staffing outreach booths to show project renderings at community events including Music in the Park, the Beach Bash and Fall Fast.
The minutes record that "Gary at the Sounder" offered to write an article about the campaign; the committee noted that paid advertising would still require funds. No formal fundraising plan or budget allocation was adopted at the meeting; members agreed to continue planning and bring ideas back at a future meeting.
The committee adjourned at 6:37 p.m.
