Planning commission backs zoning amendment and CUP for South Central water treatment plant, no public comment

The Otsego Planning Commission on June 15 voted 6-0 to recommend that the City Council approve a zoning map amendment and a Conditional Use Permit for the South Central Water Treatment Plant.
City Planner Daniel Licht presented the staff report and opened the public hearing at 7:25 p.m.; no members of the public spoke and Chair Alan Offerman closed the hearing immediately. Commissioner Aaron Stritesky moved to recommend approval subject to the five conditions set out in the June 10 planning report; Commissioner Tracy Kincanon seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting Licht had pointed out an agenda error and said Item 3.2 should be corrected to read “Water Treatment Plant,” a clarification reflected in the commission’s action. The commission’s recommendation sends the zoning amendment and Conditional Use Permit to the City Council for final action.
