District reports strong June collections and confirms July calendar; first day set for July 31

District staff told the Butts County Board of Education on July 22 that the district's finances are "tracking as expected" and reported particularly strong collections in one account for June.
Danny, a district staff member, said the district "had a great month" in one account and reported, "It was the highest June we've ever had at 738,734." He also said Tabith collections were down slightly, at $147,394.
On operations, Danny reported completion of planned construction projects such as epoxy floors and LVP at the high school and said technology teams are preparing devices and systems for the upcoming year. "Our technology department's worked real hard getting things ready as far as our technology side," he said.
Staff outlined the calendar and training schedule: new-teacher orientation was held the day of the meeting, more than 50 new teachers will be introduced to the district at 8:30 a.m., preplanning begins on the 23rd, an opening celebration is scheduled for July 24 at 1 p.m., open house is July 29 with staggered start times, and the first day of school is July 31.
The board did not record further debate on the finance report during the meeting and moved forward with other business.
The board asked no follow-up questions that changed the financial presentation; staff indicated some federal drawdowns were still pending and that certain statewide test results (ELA) remain embargoed and expected in the fall.
