Local nonprofit reports growth in school mental-health services and senior hot-meals program

Verhus said the foundation’s mental-health program has served a total of 82 students this school year, including 62 at Enumclaw High School, 9 at Enumclaw Middle School and 11 at Thunder Mountain; she reported six students graduated from the counseling program. She said average incidence of behavioral intervention improved from 0.69 to 1.016 (noting this reflects relative change between 2025 and 2026) and average GPA has seen a slight increase of 1.25%.
On senior services, Verhus said the hot-meals program currently serves about 66 enrolled seniors (80+ served year-to-date), delivering six meals weekly via three deliveries and preparing roughly 400 scratch-made meals each week with about 87 volunteers supporting shopping, preparation and delivery.
