Representatives for NextEra Energy Resources and engineering consultant Kirkham Michael briefed the Cloud County Board of Commissioners on a revised Road Use & Maintenance Agreement for the Plum Nellie wind farm.
Tanner Yost of Kirkham Michael and Sherman Bernett of NextEra Energy said changes were made to the draft agreement and that the updated document will be submitted to each party’s attorneys for review before the agreement is finalized. No vote or formal action was recorded on the agreement at the June 29 meeting.
The presentation did not include a timetable for finalizing the agreement or details of the specific changes being made; the deputies present said attorneys on both sides would review the revisions. The board received the report as an informational item and did not take any binding action during the session.
The discussion was limited to the review and next steps; attendees did not request a public hearing or commit the county to any expenditures related to construction or post-construction road maintenance at this meeting.
The board is scheduled to reconvene July 6, 2026, when any attorney-reviewed changes could be brought back for further consideration.
