Superintendent Wayne Gallagher updated the Coquille School District 8 board on March 13 that the district's enrollment increased by four students since the last report. He said initial union negotiations with the Coquille Education Association produced tentative agreements on 11 articles; CEA President Joe Nichols met with Gallagher earlier the same day.
Gallagher said bids for a new bus barn are due the next day and staff have set a bid-award meeting for Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. He also reported Lloyd Electric won the contract to install exterior LED lighting at the Lincoln School of Early Learning and that architects HGE have installed a bond rendering board in the district lobby; staff are preparing a bond landing page for the district website to share project details with the public.
The superintendent presented these items as routine administrative updates; board members did not take additional action on the bond materials or the LED contract during this meeting. The board scheduled the bid-award meeting for the bus barn separately.
