At its Feb. 17 meeting the Pleasanton City Council accepted the resignation of Street Department Head Taylor Bruce and authorized the city to advertise, interview and fill the vacancy.
City Administrator Becky Hegwald presented Bruce's resignation. Councilmember Stark moved to accept the resignation; Councilmember Wills seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. A subsequent motion by Councilmember Bowley, seconded by Wills, authorized staff to advertise, interview and hire for the street department head position, and that motion also carried unanimously.
Council asked staff and candidates to provide service records for the existing skid steer and to review the submitted bids for a replacement at a future meeting. No hiring decision was made at the Feb. 17 meeting; the council gave staff permission to proceed with recruitment and scheduled follow-up discussion at future meetings.
