Moore Haven council approves routine payments, rebids SCOP design and swears in two members

The Moore Haven City Council handled a series of routine but consequential administrative matters Sept. 17, approving payments, setting procurement next steps and swearing in two council members.
Council approved payment of Aclarian invoice #2612 from ARPA funds (motion by Alisha Beck, seconded by Marcus Decker). The Council also approved payment of bills totaling $81,491.35 (motion by Alisha Beck, seconded by Bradley Smith). Council approved purchasing an EDC sponsor table for $500 (motion by Marcus Decker, seconded by Alisha Beck).
On the SCOP municipal road resurfacing project (Item 8), City Manager Larry Tibbs told the Council the bid opening produced no proposals; the Council directed staff to re-advertise the design-services solicitation. City Attorney Steve Ramunni noted the need for a special meeting later in the week to address bond issues and related agenda items.
During the public-comment period, citizen Reese raised concerns about dogs chasing him while he drives a golf cart; Tibbs said he contacted the county manager about Animal Control. Citizen Brwon complained of poor-quality work and an unfilled pothole at a pavilion site on Pinehurst and 10th Street. Citizen Barfield updated the Council on ongoing school construction, noting clearing and fence work are complete, footers will begin in October and a ribbon-cutting for electric buses is scheduled for Oct. 16 at 9:30 a.m.
City Attorney Steve Ramunni swore in Bradley Smith and Rashonda Croskey as council members. The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m.
