Oxford Public Library reports summer reading boost and book fair proceeds

Library staff said June usage included 388 patrons and 185 program attendees. The Treetop Tales series, run in partnership with Calyx Creek Lavender & Lodging, drew more than 40 people who were new to Oxford Public Library story times at each program. A recent Adult Book Fair co-hosted with Sidekick Coffee & Books generated roughly $170 in books to add to the library's July order, and attendees donated additional titles from the library's wish list.
The library noted a successful Historical Scavenger Hunt social-media series that used historic photos and newspaper articles to engage residents; its most popular post received 154 likes, 14 comments and 16 shares. Staff said Oxford Public Library will staff a Johnson County Libraries table at the Johnson County Fair at the end of July to distribute free books and promote library services.
