Oxford council approves posting and wage range for part-time deputy city clerk

The Oxford City Council on July 14 authorized the clerk to post a part-time deputy city clerk position with an anticipated start date of Sept. 1 and a wage range beginning at $18 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Clerk Taylor Tvedte presented prior job descriptions and descriptions from other cities and said the council would decide hours in consultation with the mayor and clerk. Council requested an updated job description be prepared and sent to Mayor Heather Johnson. Hennes moved to approve the posting and wage range; Green seconded and the motion passed on a unanimous voice vote.
Tvedte also presented a Municipal Professional Institute training report and noted ongoing work to implement the GWorks system. The council approved the clerk's report later in the meeting, with Roberts moving approval and Hennes seconding.
The council directed staff to finalize the posting materials; the clerk expects to begin recruitment in August for a Sept. 1 start date.
