At an emergency meeting on Oct. 10, 2025, the Noma Town Council voted 4-0 to ask the governor of Florida to review the conduct of Council Member Coy Mixon under Florida Statute §112.51. The meeting was held at Noma Town Hall and was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mayor Litermin Joseph.
Town Clerk Ben Tew reviewed the legal materials included with the agenda and explained that under §112.51 only the governor has the authority to suspend or remove an elected municipal officer for cause; the councils options are limited to making a referral or adopting a statement of concern. Following that explanation, Council Member Daniel Arrant moved that the town request the governor review Mixons conduct and consider removal. Council Member Josephine Curry seconded the motion.
