Indian Hills public works reports new stop and street signs; tree program concludes

Public Works Director Gerard Ackermann told the council that stop signs were installed at Westwind & Totem and River Hill & Blankenbaker, that uniform street signs were ordered (including for annexed Old Federal Road), MSD cleared a clogged culvert, and the Indian Hills Tree Program concluded with 16 applications and 20 trees offered.
Public Works Director Gerard Ackermann reported several infrastructure and maintenance updates at the Oct. 15, 2025 Indian Hills City Council meeting.
Mr. Ackermann said stop signs were installed at Westwind & Totem and at River Hill & Blankenbaker, and new uniform street signs for Grove Hill Place and Phoenix Hill Court were ordered to match existing city signs. He noted MSD had unclogged a culvert near River Bluff & Indian Hills Trail and that a 'Yield' sign for Sequoya & Comanche and a 'No Outlet' sign for Poplar Hill have been ordered. Mayor Chip Hancock asked Mr. Ackermann to order a matching sign for Old Federal Road after its annexation into the city. Mr. Ackermann also said he will meet with Scott Reed of Flynn Brothers regarding the Calumet paving project and road touchups, and that he will remove broken cameras from the bushes per a prior council request.
Separately, Councilor Lee Maddox reported the Indian Hills Tree Program is concluding: the minutes record 16 applications and 20 trees offered through the program. Councilor Maddox thanked volunteers who maintained the Pollinator Garden.
