Council gives Clarks Pointe property owner 30 days to remove dead tree or city will do so

The Indian Hills City Council voted on Oct. 15, 2025 to require the owner of a Clarks Pointe property to remove a dead tree within 30 days, or the city will remove it and bill the owner.
Councilor Kay Matton moved the resolution to resolve the dead-tree issue on the Clarks Pointe property; Councilor John Harralson, III seconded. The motion passed with no opposition recorded in the minutes.
Public Works Director Gerard Ackermann told the council he had received a response to an August courtesy letter about the dead tree and that he is seeking bids to remove dead trees on Hackney Coach. The minutes record that the council discussed following the city ordinance and gave the property owner 30 days to comply before the city arranges removal at the owner's expense.
The action was recorded on the meeting agenda under new business and in the public works discussion. The minutes do not record any appeals or requests to extend the compliance period.
