Indian Hills appoints Gerard Ackermann as code enforcement officer; public works director to take over June 1

The City of Indian Hills council approved Municipal Order No. 2, Series 2025, appointing Gerard Ackermann as Code Enforcement Officer during its May 21 meeting.
Councilor Laura Dunbar introduced the municipal order. Councilor Kay Matton moved to approve and Councilor Bob Astorino seconded; the council recorded a unanimous roll-call vote with all councilors voting "Yea." Mayor Chip Hancock noted that Jim Graven will retire May 31 and that Gerard Ackermann has already been working for the city on an hourly basis and will take over both Public Works and Building positions effective June 1.
Mayor Hancock also said a copy of the Indian Hills Landscaping Manual has been given to Ackermann and that he was instructed to use it for any landscaping work. The council approved the appointment without amendment.
The council voted on other business and adjourned at 7:09 p.m.
