Indian Hills council unanimously approves annexation of Old Federal Road

The City of Indian Hills council unanimously approved Ordinance No. 2, Series 2025, annexing property on Old Federal Road during its May 21 regular meeting.
Attorney Finn Cato gave the second reading of the annexation ordinance, and Councilor Bob Astorino moved to approve. Councilor Lee Maddox seconded; a roll-call vote recorded all councilors voting "Yea." Mayor Chip Hancock declared the motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Hancock noted that, following annexation, the city will pay for trash pickup for the annexed houses on Old Federal Road. The council received no additional public testimony on the ordinance at this meeting.
Attorney Cato also read first readings of two additional ordinances: Ordinance No. 3, Series 2025, approving the ad valorem/property tax rate, and Ordinance No. 4, Series 2025, approving the budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. Both were introduced by Councilor Laura Dunbar and received first readings; no final votes were taken on those items.
The council adjourned at 7:09 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for June 18, 2025, at the Louisville Boat Club.
