Staff: City Council approved CZO updates; CPC to consider 300 S. Plano Road on Aug. 6
Summary
Staff reported City Council approved changes to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance (definition of family and protest procedures) and companion Code of Ordinances amendments; property notices will go out for an upcoming CPC case at 300 South Plano Road, scheduled for the special Thursday meeting on Aug. 6.
During the July 21 meeting, development services staff updated the Richardson City Plan Commission on recent City Council action and upcoming business.
Staff said City Council approved zoning file 26-09, which revised the definition of "family" and updated zoning protest procedures; staff added a companion amendment to the city's Code of Ordinances to align the building/property maintenance code with the new zoning definitions. "Council did approve those changes to our CZO," a staff member told the commission.
Staff also said notices will be sent to property owners for a forthcoming zoning case at 300 South Plano Road and reminded commissioners that the CPC meeting for that case is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 6 (the commission's special Thursday meeting date during the summer calendar). As parting news, staff congratulated Christine Ross on passing the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) exam.
