Maplewood committee adopts parking and stormwater easement ordinances, introduces two more for hearing on Aug. 4
Summary

The Maplewood Township Committee voted on July 21 to adopt two ordinances and to introduce two additional ordinances for public hearing.
On final passage the committee approved Ordinance No. 4012‑26, which amends the township code to prohibit parking within five feet of a public or private driveway on Euclid Avenue (between Ridgewood Road and Wyoming Avenue). The ordinance was published as required and, with no members of the public voicing comment at the hearing, the committee adopted it by roll call.
The committee also approved Ordinance No. 4013‑26, authorizing the township to obtain an easement to install and maintain stormwater facilities on certain private property along Meadowbrook Place. That ordinance likewise had been published and was adopted after no public comment.
Both final‑passage votes were moved and seconded during the meeting; roll call recorded "yes" votes by the members present. Deputy Mayor Herman was noted absent from the meeting.
The committee then introduced two ordinances for first reading and set public hearings for August 4, 2026: • Ordinance No. 4014‑26, creating an article to clarify the township’s policy on the retroactivity of a disabled‑veteran tax exemption; and • Ordinance No. 4015‑26, amending historic‑preservation notice procedures to allow public availability of nomination reports rather than mailing to each property owner, with no change to forms required by state law.
Motions and roll calls followed the township’s standard practice: the clerk will post adopted ordinances on the township website and bulletin board, and hearings for the introduced ordinances were scheduled as part of the committee’s public calendar.
The committee also moved and approved a consent agenda and adjourned; no public commenters addressed the committee during the allotted comment periods.
