Tangipahoa Parish Council unanimously adopts precinct-merge ordinance and CVB budgets; appoints water district member

On Nov. 12 the Tangipahoa Parish Council adopted three ordinances — including a precinct-merge under La. R.S. 18:532–533 and two Convention & Visitors' Bureau budget measures — approved a water-district appointment and backed the 2045 comprehensive plan; all votes were unanimous.
The Tangipahoa Parish Council on Nov. 12 unanimously adopted three ordinances and approved a board appointment and a resolution supporting the parish's 2045 comprehensive plan.
The council approved T.P. Ordinance No. 24-47, which merges precincts and consolidates precinct polling places in accordance with Louisiana Revised Statutes 18:532 and 18:533. The motion to adopt was made by Buddy Ridgel and seconded by Lionell Wells; the roll call recorded yes votes from Darrell Sinagra, John Ingraffia, Louis Joseph, Joseph Havis, Buddy Ridgel, Joey Mayeaux, Lionell Wells, David Vial, Brigette Hyde and Strader Cieutat (10–0).
Council members also adopted T.P. Ordinance No. 24-48, an amendment to T.P. Ordinance No. 23-69 concerning the 2024 budget of the Tangipahoa Parish Convention and Visitors' Bureau (motion by Lionell Wells, seconded by Louis Joseph; unanimous roll call), and T.P. Ordinance No. 24-49, which adopts the 2025 operating budget for the Convention and Visitors' Bureau (motion by Lionell Wells, seconded by Joey Mayeaux; unanimous roll call).
The council approved the appointment of Tommy Levatino to the Tangipahoa Water District to fill an unexpired term ending March 2025. The motion by Joey Mayeaux, seconded by Buddy Ridgel, passed on a unanimous roll call.
As an addendum, the council adopted T.P. Resolution No. R24-37 endorsing implementation of the 2045 Tangipahoa Parish Comprehensive Plan and publicized a community engagement event scheduled for Dec. 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. (motion by Louis Joseph, seconded by Darrell Sinagra; unanimous vote).
The meeting record shows all formal votes on these items were recorded as unanimous yeas. No members of the public spoke on the ordinances during the hearing. The council set public hearings on newly introduced ordinances (see separate coverage) for Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
