- Lieutenant Robert Willich: The commission approved a tuition-reimbursement request for a 3-credit course (risk management and incident command) at Seton Hall University. Total course cost was $4,670; the requested reimbursement under the collective bargaining agreement was $2,335. A commissioner moved approval and the motion passed unanimously.
- Detective Christopher Imperato: The commission approved reimbursement for 11 credits at Pace Law School (criminal law, contract law, legal-skills courses). Chief Walsz said the out-of-pocket cost was $21,662 and 50% reimbursement is $10,831. A motion to approve passed unanimously.
- Officer Mark Bozella: The commission approved a 50% tuition reimbursement for coursework toward a bachelor of science in public safety administration (Charter Oak State College). Total cost presented was $5,566; 50% reimbursement is $2,783.12. The motion passed unanimously.
- Bachelor's-degree stipends: The commission approved stipends for Officer Jim Zima (Suffolk University) and Officer Seth Pappe (Trinity College). The chief confirmed both officers provided transcripts and diplomas as required by the collective bargaining agreement.
- Drop-plan application: The commission accepted Officer Tyrone Boyd's drop-plan request to take effect Sept. 1, 2026; the chief said the application and supporting financial calculations were in order. A motion to accept the application was approved without recorded opposition.
Vote and procedure notes
For each item the chief presented paperwork (applications, receipts, grades or transcripts) and commissioners moved and approved the items by voice vote; meeting minutes recorded these items as approved. Several motions were explicitly recorded as unanimous.
What happens next
