Deputy clerk Michelle Idaroga said there were two applicants to fill two vacancies on the Clear Creek Community Services District; after brief discussion a motion to appoint the applicants to terms expiring 12/04/2026 passed by voice vote. The board also appointed one applicant to the Lassen County Children & Families Commission (First 5) for a term expiring 12/31/2026.
Treasurer/Tax Collector staff described the process for excess proceeds after tax sales: after five years unpaid taxes go to a tax sale and any amount in excess of county charges may be claimed by interested parties within one year. This year’s review found approximately $111,000 that would remain with the county if no claim is filed; the board approved the staff recommendations and will issue letters to claimants with a 90‑day contest period before issuing checks.
The motions to appoint and to accept the treasurer’s report were made, seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting.
