Upper Dublin board approves final budget and YMCA agreement; budget passed unanimously

At its June 22 meeting the Upper Dublin School District board approved its final budget and related funding resolutions (item 6a) by roll-call vote and later approved a contract with the Greater Philadelphia YMCA for before- and after-school programming starting next school year.
Finance chair Mister Sirota moved the budget motion; Miss Evans called the roll. The transcript records all voting members (Doctor Bailey, Doctor Berto, Miss Evans, Mister Held, Miss Lowe, Miss Redding, Doctor Thomas, Mister Sirota and Mister Wallach) registering 'Yay.' The superintendent and administration had previously told the board that the North Hills staffing line (approximately $45,000) remained in the budget and had been moved to a staffing category.
Later in the meeting Mister Sirota moved and Mister Held seconded approval of an agreement with the Greater Philadelphia YMCA for before/after-school programming. The motion passed by voice vote; the transcript records at least one abstention by Doctor Thomas. Mister Sirota noted the YMCA agreement in the written agenda remained subject to solicitor review.
Board members and public commenters asked about operational transition details for families who had already registered with Right At School; Dr. Smith said the YMCA had provided sample communications and would assist with registration, that refunds and transitions had been used in past provider changes, and that communications would begin promptly.
The board also approved a slate of other finance and personnel items in omnibus votes, approved the graduates list for 2026 and reappointed the board treasurer.
