Richmond Planning Commission approves agenda and minutes, hears staff updates and schedules next meeting

The Richmond Planning Commission opened its March 26 meeting and approved the agenda on a motion by Commissioner Jon Person, seconded by Commissioner Jim Hemmesch. Commissioner Chuck Merten moved to approve the February 26 meeting minutes, seconded by Commissioner Jon Person; both motions passed.
Planner Kendra Ellner told the commission that Eric Leither, owner of Anything Outdoors, has decided to "hold off on splitting his property for a year or two," but that she needs a formal withdrawal from the applicant and the commission if the item is to be removed from future agendas.
Under other matters, staff said the City Council is requesting that members of the planning commission and other boards attend a training; staff will provide scheduling information. Commissioners, the EDA and the council will also meet jointly in the near future; a date will be announced. The commission set its next meeting for April 23, 2026.
Commissioner Jim Hemmesch moved to adjourn, Commissioner Chuck Merten seconded, and Commissioner Ken Gertken declared the meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
