Mayor swears in new Phoenixville patrol officer with public-safety background

The chief described Moore’s prior work as an EMT in an ambulance corps and two years as a fire lieutenant; during the oath Moore affirmed he would “support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania” and discharge his duties “with fidelity,” language read into the record. Mayor Urschler and members of council offered brief congratulations after the ceremony and members of the department joined for photographs.
The swearing-in was followed by the meeting’s first public-comment segment and routine business. Council did not debate the hire during the meeting record; the ceremony was presented as the official welcome and part of routine personnel recognition.
