Council authorizes $638,850 in CIP transfers and approves $157,528 change order for community center work

The Maple Grove City Council on June 15 approved a set of capital and construction actions including a transfer of $638,850 from the city’s CIP Fund and a construction change order for the Community Center Renovation and Expansion project.
Staff requested authorization to transfer $638,850 from the city’s CIP Fund: $366,867 to the Park Replacement Fund, $192,475 to the IT Data Processing Fund and $79,508 to the Building Replacement Fund. The transfer was included in the consent agenda approved by the council.
On the Community Center project, staff presented change order No. 12—14 for Phase 1 in the amount of $157,528.19, and requested authorization to execute a change order with RJM to award Bid Package 1 and to advertise Bid Package 2 for Phase 2, waiving associated building permit fees. The council approved the consent agenda, which included these items; staff was authorized to execute the award and to proceed with bid advertising subject to final city attorney and public works/engineering director approval where required.
The transfers move funds into targeted reserves and operating-support accounts and the change order funds are intended to address contract modifications during Phase 1 construction; both items were approved as part of the larger consent vote. Staff will return with contract documents and further project updates as work continues.
