Soda Springs council approves multiple motions including Park Ridge plat changes and Enders Gem Grant contribution

The Soda Springs City Council unanimously approved a series of routine and project-specific measures at its March 4 meeting, including subdivision plat changes, grant support and community donations.
The council approved amended minutes and payables, and moved to amend the meeting agenda to add Idaho Code 74-206(1)(f) to the executive session. On project items, the council approved Park Ridge Phase 2 plat adjustments that reduce six twin-home lots to five per side, expand planned garages to 20 feet and call for a 40-foot asphalt roadway; the city will adopt the street after construction. Barry Oats presented the plat revision during the meeting.
The council adopted Resolution 2026-3 and authorized staff to submit the Idaho Gem grant application for a feasibility study of the Enders building. The council also approved a $6,000 city contribution toward the Gem Grant required match. The council approved a $550 donation to the Distinguished Young Women scholarship program (requested by the Soda Springs Lions Club) and agreed to sign a letter supporting an Idaho Regional Travel grant with a potential city contribution of up to $2,000.
Other approved items included procedural approvals (minutes and payroll/payables) and a proclamation declaring April 11–17, 2026, as the Week of the Young Child.
What happens next: staff were directed to prepare and submit the Gem Grant application and to pursue any necessary Planning & Zoning steps for approved projects; several items will be subject to future public hearings or permit processes.
