Board adopts transportation and driver policy updates tied to HB 396; multiple first readings approved

These edits generally broaden prior bus‑specific language to apply to all district vehicles or clarify which requirements remain specific to buses under state rules.
The board also approved first readings — by unanimous vote — of a broader package of policies and procedures including Policy 2605 (Advancement Requirements grades 6–9), Policy 3380P (High School and Jr. High Extracurricular Academic Eligibility), Policy 5740 and 5740P (Reduction in Force and procedures), Policy 7225 (Financial Fraud and Theft Prevention), Policy 7235 (Fiscal Accountability and Federal Grant Funds), Policy 7237 (Retention of Records Relating to Federal Grants), Policy 7270 (Property Records), Policy 7320 and 7320P (Allowable Uses for Grant Funds and related selected items of cost), and Policy 7600 and 7600P (Declaration of Financial Emergency and associated requirements). Several items emphasize updated reporting, record retention, internal controls for federal funds and optional language to modernize older terms.
