Snake River trustees approve ISBA-recommended policy updates and advance facility-use fee changes

Trustees approved second readings of Policy 5100 (Hiring Process and Criteria), Policy 5110 (Criminal History/Background Checks), Policy 8300 and Procedure 8300P (Emergencies and Disaster Preparedness, updates reflecting House Bill 224), and Policy 9803 (Flags and Banners, reflecting House Bill 41a). Board discussion included a clarification request from Trustee Larin Mortimer about the five-day period referenced in the criminal-history/background-checks edit; Superintendent Kress said he would verify the wording and bring any needed corrections to the November meeting.
The board also approved the first reading of Policy 4210F1 (Facility Use and Rental Agreement), which includes a proposed increase in kitchen cook rates from $15 per hour to $23 per hour when a rented facility requires a cook. Trustees voted 4–0 to approve the second readings and voted 4–0 to approve the first reading for Policy 4210F1.
Chairman Lon Harrington was designated to represent the board at the ISBA business session at the annual ISBA conference.
