River Ridge CDD approves $105,000 traffic-calming system with solar speed signs

At its Nov. 19, 2024 meeting, the River Ridge Community Development District Board of Supervisors approved My AV-Tech LLC estimates to install three permanent and one mobile 15" solar-powered digital speed radar signs with cameras and messaging, plus cloud services, for a combined total of $105,000.
Shane Willis presented the AV-Tech LLC estimates and explained the long-term plan to install three remaining permanent solar speed signs and an optional mobile unit. Mr. Eric Long said the existing unit recorded about 800 varied speeding violations over a three-week period and recommended moving an existing unit 20 to 30 yards to improve coverage; Mr. Willis said poles would be purchased from Paramount Asphalt at about $1,200.
Discussion included proposed installation areas, a $150,000 traffic-calming budget line, PSGRC criteria for issuing warnings and fines, and a suggestion that the HOA assume cloud-device costs and offset them with covenant-traffic fine revenues collected by PSGRC. On motion by Mr. Schultz and seconded by Mr. Blumenthal, with all in favor, the board approved AV-Tech Estimates 24150 and 24151 for the work and services totaling $105,000.
