County engineer seeks municipal signatures for Warrington Mill Dam decommissioning application

Gloucester County Engineer Barry Beckett presented a certification document to the Woolwich Township Committee on Dec. 1 as part of an application to decommission Warrington Mill Dam. The county requested signatures from the county, Woolwich, East Greenwich and the property owner; Mr. Beckett said the county can submit the application without the property-owner signature if necessary because the property is for sale.
Mayor Matthias asked the county engineer to provide a similar certification for Porches Mill Dam. Committeeman Frederick said he preferred restoration of both dams but acknowledged that, from the county’s perspective, decommissioning may be the only available option.
