Del City approves three‑year contract with Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 114

The Del City Council voted unanimously on July 20 to approve a three‑year collective bargaining agreement between the city and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 114 for fiscal years 2027 through 2029, effective retroactively to July 1, 2026.
Andrew Bentley, president of FOP Lodge 114 (speaker 15), said he worked with city staff and legal counsel on the agreement and that "most of the officers actually, all the officers look forward to this contract." Bentley said the contract moves officer pay toward a market average used to set compensation.
Councilmembers praised negotiation efforts. One councilmember (speaker 10) said he reviewed the contract thoroughly and called it "a very fair contract for the FOP and also a very fair contract for the city." The motion authorized the mayor and/or the city manager to execute documents and direct staff to implement the agreement.
The city manager thanked all parties for their work. No opposing votes or amendments were recorded during the meeting. The agreement was recorded as passed by unanimous vote.
