Casey Bennett, director of wellness for Sky Lakes Medical Center, presented a proposal to operate a Sky Lakes Mobile Health Clinic in Merrill beginning Nov. 12, 2025. Bennett said the clinic would operate from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and provide charity care so patients would not be turned away for inability to pay; insurance carriers would be billed when applicable.
Bennett told council members that Sky Lakes has considered other Klamath County locations including Beatty and Chemult but proposed the Civic Center in Merrill as the preferred local site. Board Member Ongman, present at the meeting, indicated approval of the Civic Center location. Council discussion did not record a formal vote but showed consensus toward hosting the mobile clinic at the Civic Center.
City staff and Sky Lakes will coordinate site logistics and scheduling; the clinic’s first scheduled service date is Nov. 12, 2025. The council did not record a formal contract or a final approval vote in the minutes; follow-up actions recorded in the minutes include staff coordination and confirmation of the site.
