Senate State Affairs committee forwards multiple gubernatorial appointments to the floor

The Senate State Affairs Committee on Jan. 20 voted by voice to send several gubernatorial appointments and reappointments to the full Senate with recommendations for confirmation.
Senator Harris moved and Senator Den Hartog seconded a motion to send Scott Madison’s appointment to the Idaho Energy Resource Authority (term Dec. 1, 2024–June 30, 2029) to the floor with a recommendation for confirmation; the motion carried by voice vote. Vice Chairman Bernt moved and Senator Adams seconded a similar motion for Thomas Mello’s appointment to the State Building Authority (term Sept. 13, 2024–Jan. 1, 2029); that motion also carried by voice vote.
Senator Den Hartog moved and Senator Harris seconded the reappointment of Patricia Perkins to the Treasurer’s Investment Advisory Board (term July 1, 2024–July 1, 2028); the committee carried that motion by voice vote. Senator Harris moved and Senator Toews seconded a motion to send Andrew Arulanandam’s appointment as Director of the State Liquor Division (term commencing Aug. 23, 2024) to the floor with a recommendation for confirmation; the motion carried by voice vote. The committee also approved Arulanandam’s appointment as Director of the Idaho Lottery Division in a separate motion moved by Senator Harris and seconded by Senator Den Hartog.
