North Fond du Lac trustees approve ARPA study funds, designate Police Week and grant operator licenses

The Village of North Fond du Lac Board of Trustees on May 1 approved an $80,000 allocation from American Rescue Plan Act funds to complete a facilities study and renovation design for the Municipal Building, adopted a proclamation recognizing National Peace Officer Memorial Day and National Police Week, and approved three operator licenses.
Administrator Nick Leonard told trustees the $80,000 payment funds the contract approved at the prior meeting and that the board would be updated during the design process. The board recorded an all-aye vote on Resolution R-09-2022 authorizing the ARPA designation; Trustee Ann Price moved the resolution and Trustee John Duffy seconded.
The trustees also considered Resolution R-07-2023 to designate National Peace Officer Memorial Day and National Police Week for the Village. Trustee Chuck Hornung moved approval, Trustee John Duffy seconded, and the motion carried by unanimous vote.
Under the consent agenda the board approved routine items including the April 17 minutes and payment of invoices. During that discussion Trustee Ann Price asked about the Village’s wastewater treatment payment to the City of Fond du Lac; Administrator Leonard said the invoice included an $84,000 true-up for 2022 that will likely push 2023 wastewater costs above budget, although 2022 overall was under budget.
Trustee Mike Will moved to approve three operator licenses (including Daniel Baldauf and Joey Marschall); Trustee Ann Price seconded and the motion carried with five ayes.
The board’s actions were procedural approvals and budget allocations; the board asked that staff provide updates on the municipal building work as it proceeds. The meeting adjourned at 6:45 P.M.
