Senate State Affairs Committee approves major rewrite of Idaho State Lottery rules

The Senate State Affairs Committee on Feb. 4 approved Docket No. 52-0103-2501, a chapter rewrite of rules governing the Idaho State Lottery.
Andrew Arulanandam, director of the Idaho State Lottery, told the committee the revision largely cleans up language and specifications and will reduce the rule by approximately 18 pages and 9,144 words to make the rules clearer, enhance transparency for the public and protect the integrity of the game.
Arulanandam acknowledged contributions from the lottery’s chief financial officer, the compliance department and the director of security during his presentation. Senator Den Hartog moved to approve the docket; Senator Harris seconded and the motion carried by voice vote.
The rewrite was presented as a ZBR (zero-based regulation) chapter rewrite. Committee members did not record additional amendments on the record; committee staff will retain the sign-in sheet, testimonies and related materials with the minutes and forward paperwork as required.
The committee adjourned at 8:17 a.m.
