The North Plains City Council voted unanimously on Feb. 18 to create a Library Supervisor position, replacing a vacant Library Assistant II slot. Library Director Robin Doughty presented the proposal, saying the new role would serve as a volunteer coordinator and help the department prepare for anticipated workflow changes.
Doughty told councilors the annual cost difference would be approximately $25,000 to $30,000 and that the position can be absorbed within the current budget. Councilor James Fage moved the resolution; Councilor Mandy Hagedorn seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Council members did not request additional staffing details at the meeting; staff indicated the position will be posted and recruitment will follow standard city hiring procedures.
