North Fond du Lac trustees approve $100,475 paving contract, allocate $3,255 in ARPA funds

The Village of North Fond du Lac Board of Trustees on June 5 approved a $100,475.75 contract to repave the Community Center and the Village Garage and unanimously (4–0, one trustee excused) adopted a resolution allocating $3,255 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for cell-phone signal boosters on Fire and EMS vehicles.
Director of Public Works Mitch Vis presented the bid tabulation and recommended awarding the paving contract to Northeast Asphalt, Inc. Trustee Mike Will moved approval; Trustee Chuck Hornung seconded and the motion carried with four ayes. The contract covers paving work at the Community Center and the Village Garage.
In a separate vote the board approved Resolution R-09-2023, designating $3,255 in ARPA funds to purchase cell phone boosters for North Fond du Lac Fire and EMS apparatus. Trustee Mike Will moved the resolution; Trustee Ann Price seconded and the motion passed 4–0.
On routine business the board addressed consent-agenda items including invoicing, permit matters and licenses. Fire/EMS Chief Jake Flaherty told trustees that one rental-ambulance invoice was a Village expense for a worn belt and that staff are working with the rental vendor on a second invoice. The board approved an operator license for Colette Jaeger (NFDL Youth Athletics) on a motion by Trustee Ann Price, seconded by Trustee Chuck Hornung (4 ayes).
The board also approved a Temporary Class B Retailers License for North Fondy Fest at 200 Winnebago St., naming Andrew Puddy as agent; the festival was noted for June 17 at Village Park. Trustees confirmed multiple committee and board appointments, including nominees for the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Plan Commission; motions to approve those appointments passed 4–0.
Administrator Nick Leonard told the board he had received a proposal to use State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) for security cameras at several municipal facilities and that staff will provide a more thorough report at a future meeting. Leonard also reported recent developments in the Wisconsin Shared Revenue program and said he had spoken with Senator Feyen about how shared revenue is being calculated.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:39 p.m. on a motion by Trustee Ann Price, seconded by Trustee Chuck Hornung (4 ayes, Trustee John Duffy excused).
