City schedules River Plant expansion kickoff; parks grant submitted as vandalism prompts citations

City Administrator Lonnie Rainville reported the city is working with Dyer on the River Plant expansion design to integrate existing Aria skid equipment. Staff plan an official kickoff meeting on April 7 and will meet biweekly thereafter to advance the project.
Lonnie also said the city has submitted a parks grant application for an Evergreen Park Pavilion; the application advances to a presentation stage in June or July with possible award notifications in September. He noted a separate planning grant is due May 15 and will be submitted next month.
Separately, Lonnie reported vandalism at the pool and skate park: heavy picnic tables were broken and graffiti sprayed on the skate park and baseball dugouts. The Police Department located the youth responsible and issued citations.
Staff also announced a budget training session scheduled for April 7 at 5:30 p.m. The council received these updates and had no formal action recorded on the River Plant or grant items during the meeting.
