Board approves federal relief funds for cell boosters for Fire/EMS; chief to revise monthly reports

Fire and EMS Chief Jake Flaherty told the Board the department has intermittent cell-service problems for mobile data computers in parts of the response district and is seeking equipment to improve connectivity. The full project cost is $6,510; Flaherty said he is applying for a grant to cover half the cost and requested the Village fund the remaining $3,255 from State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF). He said the project will add a monthly service cost of $200.94 to be paid from the Fire and EMS budgets.
Trustee Ann Price moved to approve the use of $3,255 in SLFRF funds for the project; Trustee John Duffy seconded. The board voted 5-0 to approve the request.
Separately, the board discussed the Fire and EMS monthly reports and asked Chief Flaherty to provide additional detail going forward: expense graphs, revenue graphs, call reports and presentation of revenues with the average uncollectible rate removed. Chief Flaherty agreed to provide the revised reports on a monthly basis.
