Mosier hears water-operations report: 60,000-gallon reservoir discrepancy, SCADA issues and UV upgrade completion

Chris McCalib of Treatment Equipment Company (TEC) updated the council on water and wastewater operations and compliance work. He reported completion of disinfection byproduct testing, and said lead and copper sampling will be delayed until next year because of sampling-site issues.
McCalib told the council there is a 60,000-gallon discrepancy in reservoir monitoring that staff will address by operating clay valves on Friday. He said SCADA communications have persistent problems that required escalation to outside technical help while the plant continues weekend monitoring.
McCalib reported a completed UV system upgrade funded by the city but noted ongoing maintenance needs: some pumps and blowers require replacement or rebuilding and were not included in the original upgrade scope. He said TEC is seeking more economical solids-disposal options, and the minutes record current disposal costs at $0.62 per gallon.
City Manager Andrea Rogers asked TEC to investigate the feasibility and costs of PFAS testing in public waters; McCalib agreed to explore options and report back. The council did not take formal action on testing or capital replacements at the meeting.
