Council approves Gilpin Construction as low bidder for elevator and accessibility upgrades

Mayor (speaker 1) reported that Gilpin Construction was the low bidder following a bid opening at City Hall and described the planned work as restroom upgrades, a new front door, a lower, accessible drop box and an elevator to make the facility ADA‑compliant. The mayor said he had reviewed the contractor’s background and reputation and recommended contract approval.
Council made and seconded a motion to approve the contract; the motion carried on a voice vote. The council did not read final contract terms or the dollar amount for the bid into the meeting record during the public portion of the meeting.
The approval authorizes staff to finalize contracting documents with Gilpin Construction and proceed with the procurement steps necessary to begin the work, subject to the formal contract execution process.
